Albany is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Albany is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across New York's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

🍽️ Albany Buffet — 3/5 ⭐⭐⭐ I visited Albany Buffet and, unfortunately, I wasn’t very impressed with the food. The overall experience was just okay, but the food didn’t really meet my expectations. There are definitely some things that could be improved, especially when it comes to the quality and taste of the food. Overall, I’d give Albany Buffet 3 out of 5 stars.

Hot Food was good. Sushi and sashimi not so much. I go to this place whenever I feel like pigging out on random food. They have great options especially for people that don’t know what they want and just kind of want a little of everything. They have Sushi, salads, soups, grilled, fried, Chinese-American food, breakfast and lunch, fruits, ice creams, dessert options and a lot more. You can also do take out if you want. Cheap eats, good food, low price. What more can you ask for.

The hibachi (stir fry raw ingredients of your choosing) and pho were the best, healthy and wholesome. Everything else was just added bonus, all for an unbelievable price! The grilled chicken and peanut chicken were perfectly juicy and yummy, but the red boneless rib was not as fresh. The spinach phyllo pastry was just heavenly, one of life’s guilty pleasures! There’s also a large clean Asian toy/ stationery/ snack (Taiwanese) store next door to walk off the buffet afterwards. Beats any rest stop food on I-90, so glad we found out about this place, a long awaited excellent option on our drive.

I’m new to the capital region and so far have been disappointed at most of the Asian restaurants here except for Albany Buffet. $21 and change is about average price for a Chinese buffet as I am a truck driver and sampled many across the US. I personally look for one that has sushi and specifically salmon sushi which this place has and it was good. My other 2 favorite things here was the roast beef which was nice a rare in the middle and the breaded fried fish (my guess is tilapia). Everything else was a miss for me not so great or disappointing was the salt n pepper jumbo prawns (undercooked), pot stickers (not sure what the mystery meat was inside), wonton soup (wontons been sitting all day), spareribs in black bean sauce (this should have been a home run but here it was a foul ball). Also the first mistake in service was they sat me at a crooked table instead of a nice booth.

Review: Albany Buffet – 1/5 Stars "Avoid at all costs. Discriminatory and dismal." I visited Albany Buffet at 1 PM on a weekday, and the experience was bizarre and unprofessional from the start. After being quoted a price of $13.99 by the hostess, I was stopped so a staff member could literally measure my height against himself. When I questioned this, the hostess claimed they "charge by height." As a 6'4" adult, I found this targeted and absurd—especially since no other patrons in the nearly empty restaurant were being measured. When I confronted the manager, he claimed they only "charge by height" for groups, then asked me for advice on how to price their menu after I pointed out how inappropriate the practice was. The food was equally disastrous: * Quality: 1/10. There was almost no authentic Asian or Chinese cuisine available. * Freshness: Pizza had clearly been sitting out for over 30 minutes; the "chicken on a stick" was dry and flavorless. * Accuracy: The "grilled" chicken was rubbery and lacked any sear, while the "stuffed clams" were actually just imitation crab in a shell. This establishment is poorly managed and the food quality is unacceptable. Save your money and go so
